Hong Kong is a curious melting pot of many widely different cultures all stirred together. And nowhere is this more evident than in the Central area, with some of the costliest real estate on earth. On a rainy day, the famous HK Tram (another holdover of British colonial times) trundles off on another noisy, bumpy trip while the modern skyscrapers of glass and steel tower over the scene. It highlights what I felt about Hong Kong, where I lived and worked for several years. There is always a mix of the past and the future, the old and the new, and the various different people, religions and cultures all living together in peace.
