About Artist

Varun N Rao is a Bengaluru-based, self-taught artist who started his art career, creating realistic portraits and eventually diversified his skills towards contemporary acrylic paintings, funny caricatures, colorful pop arts, and more. Over the past 10 years, he has created 200+ artworks that include celebrity & commissioned portraits, caricatures, and paintings (across still-life, landscape, and portrait genres) using oil, acrylics, color pencils, and digital mediums. Varun has participated in 3 solo and 9 group exhibitions at various places such as Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Venkatappa Art Gallery, Art Houz, DYU Art Cafe, Art Blends Cafe (all at Bengaluru), and World Trade Center (Mumbai). His art journey and artworks have been featured in prominent newspaper publications such as New Indian Express, The Hindu, Prajavani, The Mint, Sakshi Telugu, and in magazines such as Creative Gaga, Inspiro India, and online portals such as YourStory, Abstract Oval, and Banani Vista. Varun also mentors budding artists and keeps guiding them to pursue and grow in their art journey.
