About Artist

Dr. Prithipal Singh Sethi, a Delhi based artist, has a multifaceted personality with a creative bent of mind. A physician by profession, he is also a keen writer, poet, meditation, and yoga enthusiast. Art for him is a product of a burning passion and a source of relaxation. His training in art began with an Art Appreciation Course (1994-95) at the prestigious National Gallery of Modern Arts. His early paintings depicted figurative, symbolic, and expressive reflections of society at large. These days his passionate pursuit is abstract art (Aroopa). Throughout his journey as an artist, Dr. Sethi has been driven by a yearning to find his true self. With minimalistic abstraction in pastel, the artist uses the vocabulary of hue, chroma, value, and mode of application -- each aspect adds a new dimension. This approach allows him to convey his emotions and thoughts by creating moods and playing with the atmosphere. His first major exhibition was in December 2017 at the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Delhi Medical Association. Out of more than two thousand entries for art and photography, the works of five Doctor-artists and photographers were selected for exhibition at Hotel Hilton New Delhi. Recently, he was invited to take part in a group exhibition entitled ‘Infinite Possibilities’ at the Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre in which 17 artists (both of national and international repute) participated. This was very well received by the media, critics, and art lovers.
