I am a self-taught artist from Assam and my journey has been continuing for the last 30 years. I have learned through trial and errors since there was no one near me to guide at that time. I can remember what happened to the brushes when I left them for a long time with my acrylic painting palette. That was my first experience with Acrylics. I even didn’t know that acrylics dry so fast and I lost two of my favorite brushes. But that experience leads me to a new direction and now I paint most of my paintings with acrylics only. I am a postgraduate in Life Science from Dibrugarh University. But my artistic mind draws me towards the profession where there is creativity. I am also a qualified Jewellery Designer from a very reputed Government Institute. I have worked as a Jewellery Designer and Instructor in a Government Institution in Guwahati for more than 8 years. I have proudly associated with many projects involving design development, design diversification and new technology implementation in our Assamese Traditional Jewellery industry. Currently, I have shifted to my hometown Sibsagar leaving my designer job in Guwahati after the death of my father. Now I am dedicating full time towards my creativity. I have painted many commissioned paintings which have found their way in various parts of India and abroad. I have conducted a few group and solo exhibitions of my paintings in Assam. But recently, I have preferred to go online rather than offline shows. The only reason, I want to focus only on doing my paintings. The harmony of nature and people, the rich diversity of flora and fauna of this region have consistently been inspiring me to express them all through colours. Being a self-taught artist, I have managed to develop my own unique style that can be clearly seen in my paintings. My painting reflects simple beauty which is easy for anyone without any negativity. My painting carries only positive vibrations and nothing else.
